Blogs
Surprise! A blog is telling you to check out blogs. They are a great resource and just a Google search away.
If you want a few of my favorite web design blogs for Squarespace are GoLiveHQ and Paige Brunton which have some great advice for creating a website on your own.
Videos
I have not found a topic that doesn’t have at least one video on YouTube.
For certain tasks it is so much easier to watch a video tutorial then having someone explain it step by step in an article.
Podcasts
Podcasts are one of my favorite ways to learn while doing boring tasks or when I’m tired of staring at screens. I love to listen on my lunch break or in the morning to mimic my morning commute habit.
Forums
A treasure trove of information can always be found on forums. Much like YouTube videos there is a forum or subreddit for almost everything.
Make sure to check out other topics which are similar to web design like graphic design because a lot of useful information can translate between the two.
Short Videos
The bite sized cousin to longer videos are TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube shorts.
If you’ve spent any time on these platforms you know how they can equally be informative, entertaining and a total time suck.
Make sure to search relevant hashtags on each platform and follow web designers who will tell you their tips and tricks.
