Three Ways to Refresh Your Copy

When creating a website the building blocks you need to create it are words and images. Without them your website is going to look pretty boring. I'm going to tell you three free or cheap ways to refresh your copy.

Copywriting Blogs

If you can't afford to work with a copywriter or don't even know where to start when it comes to writing your copy try reading some of their free advice online.

Usually there will be posts about how to create your mission statement or title for a post.

They probably won't tell you all their secrets but it's a great place to start if you aren't familiar with copywriting and want to learn more.

Copywriting blogs are full of quick tips that can help you refresh your copy.

Here are a few of my favorites: Morelli Writers Blog, Copyblogger and Grammerly.

The upside is totally free advice from experts in writing copy.

The downside is there will be missing information and you are responsible for doing the research and writing.

Copy.ai

I was skeptical that an AI program would be able to write a good blog post. I tried out copy.ai and within 5 minutes I had a fully outlined and written blog post. All I had to do was give it some restrictions, topics and keywords.

It didn't come out completely perfect but with some slight modifications it was good to go in a lot less time than it normally takes me to write a blog post!

The upside is this saves you time. The downside is the free plan is limited. You’ll have to pay to use this resource regularly to create content and that cost may be too high for you.

    Market Research

This is one of the easiest in terms of money but hardest in terms of time and effort. I think market research is definitely worth the investment.

Asking your network open ended questions or answering questions people are searching for around your topic or keywords will tell you so much more than just guessing.

Answer these questions in your copy, marketing, emails and blog posts to show up when people search and grow your authority on this topic.

If you have an audience or community you can ask them open ended questions around your topic to find out their pain points.

If you want to use the internet as your resource search for the questions that people are searching for around your topic and use your copy to answer them.

The upside is a free way to find out what your customers actually want and their pain points around your topic or skill. The downside is this will take time and research intensive.

Now that you know three ways to refresh or create your copy let me know in the comments if you have any questions or what topics you want me to cover next.
