ChatGPT Prompts for Entrepreneurs

Have you gone down the ChatGPT rabbit hole yet? I have! Over the past month I’ve been taking a deep dive into the functionality of ChatGPT and other AI tools. I used to think I knew what these tools could do but there is so much more functionality that can be unlocked below the surface.

As someone who loves learning about new technology it's really exciting to learn more about everything this program can do. But there's one mistake I see business owners and entrepreneurs making. They don't know how to write prompts for ChatGPT to get awesome answers and output!

The consensus seems to be that people aren’t sure what prompts to provide to get their desired results. This is why so many people are selling and buying prompts. There is even a prompt engineer job listing for $300k!

I wanted to share some of this knowledge I’ve accumulated from people who are experimenting with ChatGPT and sharing how they did it with us (for free!) so more people can use and harness the power of AI to help them save time and money in their business.

Sounds amazing, right? Here are a few ChatGPT prompts for business owners and entrepreneurs.

Prompt 1: Act as a

Even though I don’t think AI is going to get rid of copywriters or other online service providers anytime soon you can use ChatGPT to act as a copywriter for your emails, website copy, marketing materials and so on.

The important part is plugging in your specific data about your audience and your brand. So if these parameters aren’t well defined your copy might come out on the generic side.

This is an issue people who are experimenting with AI are coming up against. How to make the automation sound less robotic? It’s all in the prompts and how much information you give it.

Here’s an example prompt:

Act as a digital marketing agency with 20 years of experience. I’m looking to create an audience persona for my brand in (insert your product or service). The persona should include the following information: demographic details, interests, hobbies and lifestyle preferences, values, pain points or challenges my product or service can solve, buying behaviors, creators they follow, other relevant data such as market research, customer feedback or social media analytics.

Change this up to fit your needs and experiment as needed. The possibilities for this one are unlimited. You can use this to fine tune your marketing, copywriting, PR strategy or even critique aspects of your business you know you need help with.

Prompt 2: In simple/ layman’s terms

Depending on your industry people might not understand how your job works or all the details involved. Whether it’s super technical or just very niche being able to break down ideas and concepts for a more general audience can be difficult.

When you are the expert how would you tell a kid what you do every day? This is what this prompt can help you with. If it’s for your blog or social media post this can help break down what you do in a more digestible way.

Here’s an example prompt: In simple or layman’s terms break down how solar shingles work.

It’s always good to know how to talk about your products and services without using jargon or acronyms your ideal clients might not understand.

Prompt 3: Provide details about your business and offers

This prompt is different from the first two since it is entirely dependent on you and your business. In order for this one to work you need to know your values, target audience and the why of your business.

Here’s an example:

I am a coach and mentor for (insert your niche like women entrepreneurs) who are looking to reinvent themselves outside of the corporate lens. They want to enjoy a balance of business and life so they have the time to dedicate to their families or hobbies or free time. Their paint points are they are used to pushing themselves too hard and fall into burn out, she is rushing around trying to get everything done and she’s often neglecting herself. She feels unsupported and doesn’t want to give up the control of doing everything herself. I have a (insert your offer or product like coaching program) that serves these women. Write a social media post for my ideal client that speaks to where she is right now and where her future could be and invite her to my coaching program.

Fill in these details for your ideal client and you can see just how powerful ChatGPT can be in your business. Use this prompt to customize your social media posts, blog posts and emails to sound like you and to talk about your offers with your audience.
