5 Ways I Use AI and Automations in my Business
Currently everyone is obsessed with talking about ChatGPT and how all the functions can take some work off your plate. There’s a lot of hot takes about how this tool won’t replace good writing and copywriting.
Like all tools it’s only as good as the user input you give it but I’ll go more into that later. You don’t need to use AI in your business but if it saves you time and money, why wouldn’t you at least try it out? Here are 5 ways I use AI and automations in my business.
Copy.ai
Before ChatGPT there were other AI resources to help with copywriting and brainstorming. I tried out copy.ai one day on a whim. I wasn’t sure how weIl it would work for my needs. Now I use this for all sorts of copywriting needs.
Mostly for blog post outlines and brainstorming topics. Sometimes you need a fresh perspective or new angle on a problem you’re used to troubleshooting. Copy.ai also helps with coming up with catchy copy for social media post captions which I know a lot of people do not like writing.
For my clients it also helps me generate copy if they need a copywriting refresh on their website or a catchy headline and CTA.
ChatGPT
I’m not the most experienced with this platform yet but I was impressed by the responses I got from a relatively simple prompt. I haven’t tested this one out fully and as a lot of people can’t create logins because of how many people are testing it out.
Just like other AI copywriting software the main advantage is the ability to brainstorm or expand on any number of topics you or your audience are interested in. If you’ve already done market research or know the questions your potential clients want answers too you can use that data for even better responses from the software.
Experts on LinkedIn are sharing how to use ChatGPT to the fullest so make sure to check those out if you’re interested in a more detailed analysis. To summarize the more specific you can get with a request to the system the better answer you will receive. Like any new platform the fun is in the experimenting. That’s why I love trying out new tools and tech.
Calendly
I love anything that keeps me from playing the dreaded game of email tag for scheduling. Not fun. Now I can just send someone a link or they send me a link and we’re good to go! Trying to schedule anything is a nightmare when you’re dealing with busy business owners. Calendly makes the process so much smoother without having to play emails tag for days on end.
Another advantage to using a scheduling tool is for podcasters. Many shows I’ve been on use Calendly to set up meetings and recording sessions which makes it super simple to see availability.
Honeybook
Another great way to automate tasks that are boring but necessary for your business is using a software solution. Have your clients pay invoices, sign contracts and get automated email updates on their projects.
This way you aren’t trying to juggle all these tasks in your mind while running your business and having a life!
ConvertKit
If you want to stay in touch with your audience outside of social media building an email list is a must. Two things for business owners to have if they are in growth mode is a website that is engaging to their ideal clients and an email list where you can start conversations and keep providing valuable content even if they don’t visit your social media profiles.
It seems like a lot of people are fed up with Instagram lately so if you want to start building a marketing strategy that doesn’t rely on fickle social media algorithms then a website and email list are definitely where you should be investing your time.
I use ConvertKit for sending out my weekly emails with updated blog posts, delivering my lead magnets and creating email funnels.
